New Years Resolutions 2018 | Lifestyle


Considering I've been gone from blogging for so long, I decided to kick off 2018 with my New Years Resolutions.

The last few months have been a bit of a mess- my laptop broke just before Blogmas & I lost every post for the month of December, then after my laptop had been fixed, I left it at my boyfriends and wasn't able to get it for another two weeks.

After that, my enthusiasm had died a little so I just decided to start fresh after the new year, and here I am.

So without further ado, here are my New Years Resolutions for 2018!



1. Be consistent with blogging

My huge thing for this year is to finally get into a routine with my blog where I can be consistent. Being organized isn't a strong suit of mine but I'm hoping this year is the year I finally get my crap together and have a routine.

I'm hoping to aim for three posts a week, but I'm not gonna push myself past what I'm able to do. I've done it in the past with previous blogs, and it's never gone well.

2. Get fit
I think everyone has this resolution on their list- loose weight. It's just a thing that happens after you've eaten your weight in chocolate and turkey and consumed loads of alcohol. But this year, not only do I wanna lose weight, but I actually wanna get fit too.

I'm not very active, at all. So my plan is to myself to the gym, as well as working out at home. I've also started meal planning which has been a huge help, and I've reasonable goals.

3. Quit Smoking

I know. It's the worst habit out there. You know it, I know it, every other smoker out there knows it, but it's an addiction. An addiction that I finally plan on kicking to the curb this year.

The longest I've ever been able to quit is a month, so I'm hoping, fingers crossed, that I'll be able to stop for good. Gonna be hard, but for the sake of my health, I'm going to try.

4. Clear out my wardrobe 

Every few months I'll decide it's time to sort through my clothes. I'll go through everything for all of about five minutes, pick out two tops that I decide I'm going to throw away (which I never even end up doing) and then that's it until I decide to try again.

Well no more. The clothes are going to be sorted this year. I haven't had a proper clean out in about six years, I was 14. It's ridiculous. I've too much, and I only wear about 40% if I'm being generous. So they've got to go.

I'll do shoes next year- not ready to part with any of them yet.

5. Put more effort into skincare

Now listen, my skin actually isn't all that bad. Like really, it's pretty good. I don't suffer from any skin conditions, I'm not overly prone to breakouts and blackheads are more or less on my nose and that's it.

But, honestly, I'm probably just lucky that my skin isn't worse because I don't put much effort into skin care. Do I have all the products? Yes. Do I use them daily? Nope.

When I'm wearing makeup, a makeup wipe does the trick. If I'm not, well then a face wash and water is perfectly fine. Except it's not though is it? This year, I really need to step up my game and start taking proper care of my skin.

6. Cut toxic people

I'm not good at seeing when people are having a bad influence on my life. And the odd time I do, I tend to ignore it just to avoid confrontation because that is not good for my anxiety.

But towards the end of 2017, thanks to a certain amazing friend, I've finally started to see those that aren't having a positive influence on me and don't have my best interests at heart. And I wanna change that.

I believe that friends should lift each other up instead of tearing each other down and some of my "friends" only seem to do the latter.  So my last New Years resolution for 2018 is to cut those people completely. They aren't good for me. And if you have any people in your life that don't have your best interests at heart, maybe you should do the same.

So that's it! My complete list of New Year's resolutions for 2018. I'm absolutely determined to stick to them and make the most of this year.
